A Moment In Time (Archery)

LI: To write a poem that describes a moment in time

A Moment In TIme

Archery

I heard the swishing noise from the arrow as I shot it well the wind was swishing over my body with a cold breeze

I saw my hands shaking well I was grabbing onto the bow & arrow

I felt like i was going to miss somewhere else then the target

I wondered what would have happened if I did miss would it have went over the target or would it have just fall to the ground

At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try. Our challenge in with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers. Ene and I have described what it was like to shoot a bow and arrow. We chose this challenge because I wanted to experience how it felt to shoot a bow and arrow.

What did Samuel Marsden see?

LI: To use the information in the diary extract to create an image of what we think Samuel Marsden saw when he sailed down the Tamaki awa.

This term we made Tamaki river like what Samuel Marsden saw. Who is Samuel Marsden you might ask, Samuel Marsden is a missionary that came from the UK to spread Christianity and spread farming to the Maori’s. How we made the Tamaki river how looked like how it looked from decades ago. Their was a brush tool that add stuff to put on it. The most fun part was the putting the waka’s. Some thing’s was difficult to remove but ia was still fun.

Alley Way

This term we created a alley way, I found this activity exciting and fun. Our task was to copied a story that had to be like the story. The fun i put in was the graffiti, light pole and the sky, how did i do it. There was color brush to color in the part that you want to put stuff in, and there would be a text to write what you want on that part.

When i was done i wote i blurb, This is the image I created using the Adobe Express. I found this activity challenging because not to cover the part that is already done but I found it fun because I could put graffiti and more stuff on it.

Evolution of the NZ Flag

LI: To understand the story behind our flag

Our challenge today was to create a collaborative presentation that reflects the story behind our NZ flag. We did this by looking at how our flag has changed over time. Something I found interesting was how Hone Heke was copping the British flag. Hone Heke was copping down the British flag is an enduring image in New Zealand history. And He expressed his outrage by repeatdly attacking the flagstaff on the hill above.

Kauri Dieback

LI: to understand the meaning of the Kauri Dieback disease

Our challenge today was to use the links provided and our own smart searching skills to find out what Kauri dieback is and what we need to do to try and prevent this from spreading. We need to know about this so that we do our part to keep our Kauri safe when we go on hike at camp.

What does the Karuri Dieback do to, the Kauri Dieback is a disease that kills trees like small trees in the mud. Animals and other trees can spread the disease too.

Inquiry Tasks on Legends of Learning

This week’s assignment for Inquiry was on Legends of Learning.  The first task was about caring for and meeting the needs of different living beings (plant, herbivorous animal and carnivorous animal), providing them with the energy source corresponding to each species.  I learnt that you can’t survive with no food forever.  The second task was about how the amount of matter in a substance is conserved when it changes form, even when it appears to vanish.  I learnt that you always have to bring food with you.  The last task was about identifying decisions involving income, spending, saving, credit, and charitable giving – this is a hint at what our inquiry topic is next term. I learnt that you always have to be hydrated.

Dancing Raisins

Today in inquiry I did observe and describe the behavior of and raisins and carbonated beverage. I learned about what carbonated is carbonated is a liquid that is fizzy or bubbly. And I learned about beverage is a liquid you can drink and Destiny means is bouncing and float means a reaction.

At first the reason sings because it’s Density is greater than the carbonation liquid then the carbon dioxide Bubble stick to all of the little creases of the raisin and increase the raisins volume. Eventually enough bubbles connect to the raisin and to pull them up to the top of the liquid. As the raisins hit the surface the air bubbles pop and gravity pulls them back down. This process repeats itself to make the raisins look like they are dancing. And here is my work.

Albert Einstein

Today in inquiry i leaned about scientists and chemistry i wrote about Albert Einstein. He was Born on March 14 1879. He died in 18 April 1955. Fun facts Albert Einstein was dyslexic. Another fun fact he lived until the age of 76. Albert Einstein was born in Germany. Here is my work.
