Building our class culture

LI: To collaborate to create a piece of art

For this task LS2 drew leaders back in the day, our leader is Jonah Lomu this task was about collaborating and learn to work with people you didn’t really know – you might need to talk about being a leader, listening, sharing ideas and compromising. Something I learnt from this was to collaborate with more people.

What is Social Influence and how does is affect us?

For Inquiry this week we have discussed as a class, what is “social Influence” and understand how to identify the difference between positive and negative social influence.

We also dug deeper into “Normative Influence” which means doing things to fit in and “Informational Influence”, is the things we do because we think others know more than us.

Something we found interesting was that social influence can really have a big affect on people.

How we Honour the Tiriti O Waitangi

For Inquiry our task was to learn about the treaty of Waitangi and how we honour it. We learnt about the different people who were involved in the treaty like, James Busby, Hone Heke, Tamati Waka Nene, and William Hobson. Then we created a DLO explaining how we honour the treaty of Waitangi and why we honour it.

I am an Agent of Change

For this task I have made a vision board, This where I will be at the end of this year. And this motivates me, and this is what I want to achieve in the future.

A the first part of this task I put images that I want to achieve though out the year and other times.

And this task motivates me, and this is what I want to achieve in the future.

Revend Samuel Marsden

This week for literacy we have been using our Inquiry knowledge to help us write questions that we might have asked Reverend Samuel Marsden from 1920, we had the chance to meet him and talk to him. This was a fun activity because we took on the roles of Samuel Marsden. It was like we experienced actually meeting him.

Tamaki Hikoi

LI: To understand the concept of visual strorytelling

Today our task was to make visual storytelling. I wasn’t here for the walk i will try to act like i was at the walk because I have walked before to Point England. Our teacher took pictures of the river walk and we created a time order sequence of the photos in time order from when we left school, to when we started the walk, then we walked through the path, then when were at the end of the path we had to cross the road, then we were at the point England field.

A Moment In Time (Archery)

LI: To write a poem that describes a moment in time

A Moment In TIme

Archery

I heard the swishing noise from the arrow as I shot it well the wind was swishing over my body with a cold breeze

I saw my hands shaking well I was grabbing onto the bow & arrow

I felt like i was going to miss somewhere else then the target

I wondered what would have happened if I did miss would it have went over the target or would it have just fall to the ground

At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try. Our challenge in with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers. Ene and I have described what it was like to shoot a bow and arrow. We chose this challenge because I wanted to experience how it felt to shoot a bow and arrow.

What did Samuel Marsden see?

LI: To use the information in the diary extract to create an image of what we think Samuel Marsden saw when he sailed down the Tamaki awa.

This term we made Tamaki river like what Samuel Marsden saw. Who is Samuel Marsden you might ask, Samuel Marsden is a missionary that came from the UK to spread Christianity and spread farming to the Maori’s. How we made the Tamaki river how looked like how it looked from decades ago. Their was a brush tool that add stuff to put on it. The most fun part was the putting the waka’s. Some thing’s was difficult to remove but ia was still fun.
