Legs Tally: Step it Up

For this activity we needed to research facts about centipedes after making a copy of the Google Draw and answering the questions provided, asnwering questions like “The Māori names for centipedes are” and “Where in Aotearoa are centipedes found?” where very interesting to answer making me think and research alot.

Facts:

  •  They use their front legs as fangs to paralyze prey like insects, and some large species can even take down small vertebrates.
  • They can regrow lost legs, helping them escape predators.
    • They eat insects, spiders, worms, and sometimes larger prey like bats or mice.

Legs Tally, Kick Start

For the Summer Learning Journey our task was to research about centipides and for our kick start activity we answered questions about centipedes and some math questions.

A fact about centipedes is that centipedes have many legs and some have up to 100.

Another fact about centipedes is that centipedes legs can regenerate so if one falls of they can regrow another one.

Athletics Day

Thursday 20th of November Panmure Bridge School had a Athletics Day. Athletics Day day was very fun, It had sports like high jump, long jump, discs, shot put and sprints those 5 sports was very fun, My favorite was the high jump. The Athletics Day started for us was 11:30. In the second block the sports we had was high jump, shot put and long jump. When that was finished it was lunch time. When lunch time was finished we did discs then sprints. When all of that was done Miss Anderson announced the winner of Athetics Day, first place red, second place was blue, third place was yellow, fourth place was green. And the day was finished, Then we went home.

Our Poppys Research

Last Week Miss’s F reading group learned about poppys. We researched about poppys and we had to go in groups for this research. We had a piece of newsprint papper and had to write down the ideas that were gonna research about. When we finished we made a Google Sildes telling us about Poppys. We had a discussion witch slide we are going present, presented the last slide. Then when we finished, we talk about feedback, we were talking about, to at the audience and to talk more louder.

Revend Samuel Marsden

This week for literacy we have been using our Inquiry knowledge to help us write questions that we might have asked Reverend Samuel Marsden from 1920, we had the chance to meet him and talk to him. This was a fun activity because we took on the roles of Samuel Marsden. It was like we experienced actually meeting him.

Mapping the Migratory Flight of the Kuaka

LI: To use Google My Maps to show the migratory flight path of the Kuaka. 

This week our task was to make a DLO Using my map to see how far from alaska to NZ. TheKuaka Can Fly over 11’6oo Kilometers And They can fly that far because they have a type of diet that makes them bulk up and they shred. The always have stop to refuel their body with insections and that gives them energy.

One intresting fact is Around 80,000 to 100,000 Kuaka arrive in New Zealand each year, from late September.

Our task was about was to make a dot to dot connections about the kuaka bird’ Something our group found interesting was we couldn’t think of any connections with the words because we didn’t talk that much but it was okay, but when we were starting to talk and we started to collaborate.

Our task was about dot to dot connections: the Kuaka. What we did, the kuaku is a bird that migrates when the whether changes. the task was dot to dot, we had to put words that matches the Kuaka. Then you had to do line’s that matches the word, this is a example location and journey then you do a line, and you write, they go from New Zealand to Alaska.
